Role Definition
+ Lead a team of power and control engineers in the technical design of generator paralleling switchgear and controls.
+ Lead a team of power and control engineers on project execution while monitoring quality, costing, and timeliness of projects.
+ Train, mentor, and develop a team of engineers to improve their overall technical capabilities and align with the engineering department’s objectives and strategies.
+ Point of technical and commercial escalation for team members.
+ Actively lead and execute new product development and enhancements to switchgear design and controls.
+ Perform technical design reviews of drawings and final testing of switchgear projects.
+ Represent company with internal and external customers.
+ Execute and support the design, test, manufacture, and commissioning of any low and medium voltage switchgear.
+ Provide direction to CAD designers to create wiring and assembly drawings for generator paralleling switchgear controls.
+ Create bill of materials for generator paralleling switchgear controls in ERP system.
+ Create PLC programs for control of generator paralleling switchgear.
+ Position requires minimal travel, typically less than 10% to support startup and commissioning activities.

Product Design and Development:
+ Develops organizational standards and processes in order to maximize complex product services' efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Creates and introduces new techniques that expedite or simplify the development process.
+ Supervises the management of multiple and diverse types of products or services.
+ Develops proof-of-concept exercises to prove or disprove validity of proposed products.
+ Advises on the appropriate solutions to complex product design and development problems.
+ Designs working prototypes of a variety of proposed products or services.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Technical bachelor’s degree. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
+ Advanced PLC programming skills
+ Strong hardware controls design including generator control systems.
+ Power systems design.
+ Intimate knowledge of system operations and PLC/Controller based control systems.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
