Job Summary:
As the Medical Legal Partnership Navigator, you will serve as a member of an inter-disciplinary, integrated treatment team, whose will be responsible for building a professional relationship with the clients, serving as a resource to clients, supporting access to substance abuse services, and engaging in advocacy activities.
What You Will Do:
+ Provide one-to-one assistance to eligible individuals by connecting them to community resources and assisting with navigating legal needs
+ Work collaboratively with the designated, attorney in client advocacy efforts involving legal and social issues presenting as barriers to the individual's treatment and recovery process
+ Engage in a range of activities, including advocacy, linkage to resources, sharing of experience, community and relationship building, group facilitation, skill building, mentoring, goal setting, and more.
+ Maintain relationships with the individuals served and educate individuals on how to navigate treatment, social service and recovery support systems, and the legal system.
+ Communicate information about the individual in the individual's service record and to team members
+ Engage clients identified in need of substance use treatment and their families
What We Need to See:
+ High school diploma or equivalency, associate's degree or above from an accredited college or university and/or
+ May be someone who has lived experienced with substance use disorder and/or emotional distress or mental health issues and who has actively engaged in a process of self-discovery or recovery related to those struggles
+ Must have two (2) years' experience in the guiding principles of recovery that assist individuals to improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and reach their full potential
+ Certified peer recovery specialist or must obtain certificate within the first two (2) months of hire
+ A valid driver's license and must be insurable by agency's automobile insurance for primary drivers.
