Overview The Associate Director, Project Management is a key leadership role within the Project Management department. This individual serves as the Project Management lead on a mid-large client or a grouping of clients as a portfolio lead. Responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of advertising campaigns and projects, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet the agency's and client's quality standards and strategic objectives. Manages a team of Project Managers and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including Creative, Business Leadership, Operations, Finance, Strategy, and Production. This role requires a strong understanding of the advertising/commerce development process, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and a proven ability to lead and motivate teams. Has excellent documentation & financial experience, varied program type knowledge (both in digital and print). This role is both internally team-focused and externally client-facing as required. Responsibilities + **Project Leadership & Management:** + Oversee team to manage multiple complex advertising projects and campaigns simultaneously, from initial concept to final delivery + Oversee team to develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessment + Proactively identify and mitigate potential project risks and challenges, developing contingency plans as needed + Ensure projects follow the established agency procedures and standards + Act as a point of escalation for project-related issues, resolving conflicts and finding solutions to keep projects on track + Monitor project progress, track key achievements, and provide regular status updates to collaborators + Manage project scope, ensuring changes are properly documented, assessed, and approved + Implement project management methodologies to improve project efficiency and effectiveness + **Team Management & Development:** + Manage and mentor a team of 2-6 Senior Project Managers or Project Managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities + Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members + Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment + Delegate tasks effectively and ensure workload is appropriately distributed + Identify training needs and facilitate opportunities for team members to enhance their skills + Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new Project Management staff + **Client Relationship Management** + Cultivate strong, positive relationships with key client collaborators + Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on project-related matters + Proactively communicate project status, risks, and challenges to clients + Manage client expectations and ensure project deliverables meet their needs and objectives + Participate in client meetings and presentations + **Financial Management** + Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within approved financial parameters + Track project utilization and ensure accurate financial reporting + Identify opportunities to improve project profitability + Contribute to client-required financial reporting, e.g., scope & labor reconciliation + **Cross-Functional Collaboration** + Collaborate closely with Creative, Business Leadership, Finance, Operations, Strategy, and Production teams to ensure seamless project execution + Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between team members + Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to strategic planning efforts + Work with resource management to ensure appropriate staffing levels for projects Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. + 10+ years of experience in project management, preferably in an advertising agency or marketing environment + Proven experience managing client scopes + Solid grasp of the advertising development process, encompassing creative development, production, and planning + Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills + Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams + Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Screendragon, Workfront, Asana, Jira) + Strong financial management skills, including budget development and tracking + Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines + Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills + Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality Skills: + Project Management + Team Leadership + Client Relationship Management + Financial Management + Communication (written and verbal) + Problem-Solving + Negotiation + Risk Management + Time Management + Organization + Decision-Making + Collaboration Personal Attributes: + Proactive and results-oriented + Highly organized and detail-oriented + Excellent communicator and collaborator + Strong leader and team player + Adaptable and flexible + Calm under pressure + Strategic thinker + Passionate about advertising and marketing Additional information The Power of One starts with our people! This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
