    Stryten Energy in Manchester, IA is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill Tooling Technician positions. We are looking for a self-starter with excellent problem-solving communication, teamwork, safety, and time management skills. Must be proficient in hand tools with the ability to read schematics and blueprints.

     

    Starting Pay $27.25

     

    Schedule:** **Monday-Friday, 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    + Must be able to lift to 70lbs. periodically through the work shift. Work will require frequent standing, bending over and turning.

    + Proficiency in hand tools, as well as overhead drill presses, metal shears, lathes, welders and torches.

    + Proficiency in measurement tools such as rulers, micrometers, voltmeters, and calipers.

    + Must be able to repair and clean molds and dies, and clean and maintain tool crib inventory.

    + Must be capable of evaluating production schedules and blueprints to meet production requirements and ensure that the proper tooling meets specifications and is available and working to meet manufacturing needs.

    + Must have proficient mechanical and electrical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair heating elements, thermocouples, and any other components utilized in the mold and manifold system in a timely manner.

    + Be capable of assisting with tooling changeover procedures, equipment startups, and proper shut down to keep line operations productive with minimal down time.

    + Required to work with minimal supervision but still ensure proper inventory of tooling to support production needs and be ready to adapt to any change of plans as they happen.

    + Must accurately complete all paperwork involved in tooling function. This includes; accepting new tooling, documenting repairs completed, testing refurbished or reworked tooling before it goes to the line and documenting any issues found while performing preventative maintenance and verifying the work gets completed to correct the issues.

    + Participate in meetings concerning any new PM schedule, or redesign to existing or future molds, manifolds, dies and provide technical input.

    + Manage mold, manifold and tooling preventative maintenance schedule utilizing CMMS as documentation tool.

    + Understand and communicate simple English to receive training and perform team responsibilities.

    + Must follow all safety and health procedures for the protection of self and fellow workers.

    + Will comply with company attendance policy and reporting procedures.

    + Will adhere to plant policies and procedures depicted in the employee handbook as well as conform to accepted general practices and conduct.

    + Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning

    Qualifications

    Physical Requirements:

    + Sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and walking as necessary. Wearing PPE is required.

    + Frequently lifting from grams up to 70 pounds

    + Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid)

    Equipment Used:

    + Knowledge of dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and cutting tools. Power tools such as drills, saws, sanders and grinders. Overhead drills, band saws, lathes, and shear cutters and presses. Also, welders, torches and sand blasters. Measuring equipment like tape measures, rulers, calipers, micrometers and multimeters.

    Education, Experience, Skills Required:

    + Candidates must have a High School Degree. 5+ years of relevant experience in industrial manufacturing, tool and die maintenance, or machining preferred. Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
