    This position exists to provide mental health evaluation, therapeutic interventions, crisis intervention, and consultation at Minnesota Correctional Facility- Red Wing. As a Sex Offense Clinician, you will provide direct incarcerated individual services in a sex offense-specific treatment (SOTP) program, which includes the following components: Security, Assessment, Education, Therapeutic, and Transitional Programming of offenders. You will also serve as a resource of clinical and corrections expertise to less experienced staff and to ensure the ongoing provision of a wide range of services, including mental health and sex offense-specific treatment in the program.

     

    Work is in a Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF) - Red Wing with incarcerated individuals.

    Minimum Qualifications

    To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family, Counseling, or a related Behavioral Health/Science program* and three years of experience providing behavioral health services, including individual and group therapy, of which at least one year of this experience was providing sex offense treatment.

    OR

    Master's degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family, Counseling, or a related Behavioral Health/Science program* and one year of experience providing sex offense treatment.

     

    * If your degree is in a related Behavioral Health/Science program not listed above, you may be asked to provide an unofficial college transcript.

    • Working knowledge of sex offense treatment goals and models sufficient to demonstrate an ability to apply this knowledge in a residential setting.

    • Knowledge of professional, legal and ethical standards; best practices; and community standards of care.

    • Ability to provide lead work direction to other sex offense treatment program staff.

    • Ability to formulate and implement an individualized treatment plan; provide sex offense treatment; and develop a continuing care plan under limited supervision.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family, Counseling, or a related Behavioral Health/Science program.

    • Current Minnesota licensure or licensure eligible as a Mental Health Professional (e.g., LICSW, LP, LPCC, and LMFT) as defined by Minnesota Statute 245.462 subd. 18, clause 1-6.

    • Experience providing lead work direction to other behavioral health staff.

    • Experience working in a correctional/secured environment.

    • Experience providing services to clients diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI).

    • Experience providing services to clients with intellectual disabilities.

    • Experience providing services to clients with a substance use disorder.

    Physical Requirements

    Additional Requirements

    The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.

     

    Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.

     

    New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
