The Bank’s lending products include residential mortgages, both portfolio and sold mortgages. The position of Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for supporting the residential mortgage lending activities of the Bank by growing the Bank’s mortgage lending program. The Mortgage Loan Officer or (MLO) plays a key role in helping borrowers obtain financing to purchase or refinance a home. Their main job is to guide clients through the loan process from application to closing while ensuring compliance with lending and regulatory requirements. This position requires the Mortgage Loan Officer to work closely with lending, management, compliance, and others in a client-centric and rewarding environment. The specific responsibilities are further outlined below: Lending and Credit Knowledge + Inputs loan applications into on-line loan system. Delivers Good Faith Estimate/TIL disclosures within 72-hours of application date. Monitors on-line queue of originated loans. Reviews files for completeness and accuracy. Communicates with loan processor/closer and the client regarding any outstanding items and/or additional documentation needed. Communicates terms and conditions of the loan decision with clients. + Assists with processing and loan closing coordination with clients. + Keeps informed of current trends in mortgage lending and market factors affecting mortgage lending. Regulatory + Maintains understanding of regulatory topics and competitive developments within the area of residential lending. + Attends relevant courses and seminars. Client Experience + Creates business relationships with brokers and clients. + Cross-sells other bank services. + Works collaboratively with team members to ensure the timely processing of loans and accurate documentation. + Provides excellent internal and external service by demonstrating courtesy and personal concern for client and coworker needs and follows up to ensure needs are met. + Maintains a professional work environment, demeanor, and business-like appearance when meeting with clients or employees in person or virtually. + Performs other related duties periodically as required and assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS + Associate Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + Demonstrated desire to learn mortgage products, services, and guidelines necessary to generate real estate loans. + Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensed System (NMLS) or ability to be registered within 30 days of employment (pass nationwide fingerprint check). + Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional image. + High level of customer service and attention to detail; excellent communication skills. + Works independently and must be a self-starter. + Ability to utilize good judgment and make sound decisions quickly. + General working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Applications. + Strong computer skills and the ability to collaborate via Microsoft Teams and/or Zoom and hold routine meetings.
