    Medical Center Hospital (Odessa, TX)


    Position Summary: The LVN assists the physician and mid-level practitioners in providing quality care as delegated. This individual is also cross-trained to assist in clerical tasks and phlebotomy.

     

    Qualifications: A. Education: Currently licensed as a Vocational Nurse by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas or hold a current Texas permit.

     

    B. Training and Experience:

     

    Basic Life Certificate (BLS) is required upon hire or transfer to the department. Minimum of six (6) months experience working as an LVN preferred; one (1) year of experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. Bilingual abilities are desirable but not mandatory.

     

    VI. Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

    A. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.

    B. Potential exposure to hazardous substances, cytotoxic agents and disease.

    C. May have varied work hours.

    D. Must be able to perform / withstand: 1. Sustained standing and walking
