    Koniag Management Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an AI Engineer to support KMS and our government at Fort Greg Adams, VA. This is a remote opportunity.

    We are seeking a talented AI Engineer to join our team and drive the development and deployment of cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Azure cloud platform, proven expertise in deploying generative AI applications, and a strong foundation in machine learning. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative AI projects that directly impact our business and customers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Design, develop, and deploy generative AI applications using large language models (LLMs) and other foundation models

    + Build and maintain AI/ML solutions on Microsoft Azure platform, leveraging Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Machine Learning, and related services

    + Develop end-to-end machine learning pipelines from data preparation through model deployment and monitoring

    + Implement prompt engineering strategies and fine-tuning techniques for generative AI applications

    + Create scalable and reliable AI application architectures with proper error handling, monitoring, and observability

    + Optimize model performance, latency, and cost-efficiency for production environments

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers

    + Establish MLOps practices including model versioning, A/B testing, and continuous improvement

    + Ensure AI solutions adhere to responsible AI principles, security standards, and compliance requirements

    + Stay current with the latest developments in generative AI, LLMs, and Azure AI capabilities

    + Document technical designs, architectures, and deployment procedures

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Engineering, or related field

    + Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform

    + Proven experience deploying and managing generative AI applications in production environments

    + Strong understanding of large language models (LLMs) and prompt engineering techniques

    + Solid foundation in machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning

    + Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or similar)

    + Experience with Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services)

    + Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools for model deployment and monitoring

    + Understanding of API development and integration (REST APIs, microservices architecture)

    + Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Azure AI Engineer Associate or Azure Data Scientist Associate certification

    + Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and vector databases

    + Familiarity with LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar LLM application frameworks

    + Experience with computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), or other specialized AI domains

    + Knowledge of deep learning architectures (transformers, CNNs, RNNs)

    + Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks for AI models

    + Proficiency in additional programming languages (C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript)

    + Understanding of responsible AI practices, bias mitigation, and model explainability

    + Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices

    + Experience supporting a federal government client

    Skills and Competencies:

    + Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities

    + Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders

    + Passionate about staying current with rapidly evolving AI technologies

    + Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in team environments

    + Detail-oriented with focus on code quality, testing, and documentation

    + Creative mindset with ability to innovate and propose novel AI solutions

    + Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize multiple initiatives
