    Job Title: Technician - Tire Silanes

     

    Summary:We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Rubber Compounding and Testing team. In this role, the ideal candidate will play a key part in supporting R&D and technical service initiatives within Momentive’s Tire Performance Additives business. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative product development, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help drive performance improvements in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

     

    Please note that this role requires on-site presence five days per week, Monday through Friday.

     

    Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

    Responsibilities Include:

    + Carry out weighing, mixing, curing, and/or testing of Tire and rubber compounds according to established guidelines.

    + Manage administrative tasks such as new vendor registration, supply management, and other required administrative tasks at Charlotte Lab

    + Perform all work according to Momentive safety practices based on received training.

    + Generate and record appropriate data, including observations, and complete necessary documentation to ensure high quality.

    + Collaborate with scientists, other laboratory technicians, and supporting functions.

    + Maintain an organized work area and support maintenance on equipment as required.

    + Assist in setting up newly acquired equipment to enhance the Rubber Lab mixing and testing.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    The following are required for the role

    + High school diploma or GED

    + High self-motivation, can-do attitude, results-oriented, strong work ethic, and all with a safety mindset.

    + Quick learner with attention to detail and ability to document experimental results accurately.

    + Basic computer skills (Excel data entry, MS Office, Sharepoint, etc.)

    + Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.

    + Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

    The following are preferred for this position:

    + Demonstrated ability to work safely in a lab or manufacturing environment.

    + Rubber/polymer lab or manufacturing experience.

    + Knowledge of silane chemistry and applications.

    + Higher education degree in STEM.
