             What You'll Do Principal Real Estate Investors (PrinREI), a top-10 global real estate manager with over $100B in assets under management, is the dedicated real estate investment group within Principal Global Investors. As an Appraiser in our Appraisal Services team at PrinREI, you’ll work with both the debt and equity teams providing services such as engaging appraisers, reviewing appraisals, and consulting with various internal teams and external appraisal firms. You’ll have the opportunity to: + Perform appraisal reviews of external appraisal reports for a variety of internal clients (both equity and debt) in support of the quarterly valuation process and loan production, including timely completion and communication to all internal parties involved. + Work closely with appraisal management companies to facilitate the valuation process on certain equity clients, including bidding selection and managing the appraisal review process with internal teams. + Administer the valuation process and review market value recommendations associated with market events for equity investments on a monthly basis. + Complete monthly and quarterly mark to market process for equity investments with floating rate loans. + Serve as a resource and provide appraisal expertise and best practice guidance to production staff, asset management and portfolio management teams as needed during the life cycle of real estate investments. + Provide valuation assistance for reporting purposes or investor queries. + Assist with the monitoring and updating of valuation and modeling policies for various funds as needed. + Assist with the annual audit process for various equity clients, including compiling requested valuation related items in a timely manner. + Keep abreast of real estate economics and trends and assist in market research and portfolio management as required. + Administer the collection, storage, analysis and communication of appraisal data. + Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required. Who You Are + Bachelor's degree or eight years of relevant work experience + 3+ years' experience as an appraiser/reviewer; preferably in commercial real estate Preferred Skills: + Ability to read, interpret, and analyze loan, financial, and/or legal documents to produce a valid property valuation + Ability to critically assess property valuations performed by the underwriting staff and asset management teams + Argus Enterprise experience + Progress towards the MAI (Member of Appraisal Institute) designation + Excellent analytical, critical thinking and organizational skills + Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work on a team + Knowledge of PC and software including Windows, Microsoft Office Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $106400 - $140000 / year Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible No Work Environments This role offers the ability for in-office or hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek) work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors. Location This role will be based out of our Corporate Headquarters located in Des Moines, IA.
