The Opportunity This position works out of our Santa Clara, CA location in the Ventures division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease. We are recruiting a Senior R&D Engineer to join our Ventures organization in Santa Clara, CA. This is a unique opportunity to join the transcatheter mitral valve replacement program that is developing a first of its kind technology solution for patients suffering from mitral valve disease who could benefit from transfemoral prosthetic mitral valve replacement. At the Santa Clara site you will be part of the Delivery System / Catheter team, which collaborates closely with the Valve development team based out of St Paul, MN. The individual who fills this role will play an important part in the design, development, and testing of this TMVR delivery system from early clinical feasibility through commercialization. The candidate will be responsible for providing engineering expertise in its creation and the development of this class 3 medical device product in this desirable technology space. This candidate will collaborate with passionate engineers, clinicians and cross functional parters in a fast-paced, mission-drive environment. Hiring Manager - Lior Noyovitch. What** **You’ll** **Work On + **Lead** critical V&V activities that ensure our devices meet the highest standards of safety and performance. + **Drive** meticulous execution plans and proactively develop contingency scenarios to address emerging challenges + **Develop and** **optimize** **test methods** that are robust, repeatable, and aligned with design requirements and quality system procedures. + **Design and execute statistically sound Design of Experiments (DOEs)** to characterize system behavior, identify critical parameters, and drive data-informed decisions. + **Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams** to ensure V&V strategies are integrated into design decisions and aligned with project goals. + **Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations** (e.g., ISO, FDA, IEC) by embedding quality and design control principles into all phases of testing and documentation. + **Provide technical leadership and mentorship** to junior engineers in test development, data analysis, and problem-solving methodologies. + **Analyze test data using** **appropriate statistical** **tools** to extract meaningful insights, identify trends, and support root cause investigations. + **Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams** to ensure traceability, documentation integrity, and readiness for audits and submissions. + **Continuously improve V&V processes and infrastructure** by identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and implementing best practices. Required Qualifications + Bachelors' Degree (± 16 years) Related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. + Minimum of 6 years related work experience with a strong understanding of a specified functional area. + Expertise using Solidworks. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
