The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Electrophysiology division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

Under direct supervision, the Group Lead (Second Shift) performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes.

What You’ll Work On

+ Require use of a few simple hand tools through assembling the components of products, articles and equipment.

+ Activities may include repairing components using tools, following assembly instructions (e.g. schematics, wiring lists, blueprints), and conducting visual inspections.

+ Follow all required safety procedures. No safety-related Record of Discussion (ROD) within the past 12 months.

+ Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

+ Escalate safety incidents or near misses to supervisor immediately and collaborate on safety improvement suggestion.

+ Encourage operators to escalate any safety issues they observe inside or outside of the CAE.

+ Identify and proactively address safety issues and act, submit at least one safety CI idea.

+ Lead by example and reinforce safety policies and procedures and encourage others to participate in daily stretches/micro stretches.

+ Escalation – escalate when the process cannot be/ is not being followed or if excessive defects are being observed. “Stop, Call, Wait”

+ No Record of Discussion for GDP related errors.

+ Coaches’ others on how to reduce scrap and GDP errors.

+ Is aware of areas NCMR’s and help with corrective actions and ensuring that it is being sustained.

+ Perform line review per value stream requirement and identify and escalate compliance issues immediately and support in audit preparations.

+ Lead by example, mentor and coach others on the Key Behaviors (Play to Win, Transparency, Customer Focused, Ownership, Inclusive).

+ Actively participate in group activities/meetings.

+ Identify and give recognition to operators through Excellence Awards and recognition cards.

+ Demonstrate proper work place etiquette and conflict resolution with no supervisor disciplinary involvements in the last 12 months.

+ Perform daily line walks to engage with operators to ensure they have what they need to meet their goals.

+ Adhere to build plan and keep updated.

+ Participate in CI board meetings where applicable by value stream.

+ Prepare (and run as needed) for Tier 1 and 2 meetings.

+ Ensure production metrics tracking are completed (as applicable).

+ Send out daily progress report/pass down required by value stream.

+ Immediately communicate line down situations to appropriate groups and inform supervisor.

Second Shift: Monday - Thursday: 3:45PM - 2:15AM

Required Qualifications

+ High School Diploma / GED

The base pay for this position is $19.15 – $38.35 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
