    Job Summary and Qualifications

     

    The Associate Imaging System Administrator serves as an entry-level contributor within the healthcare IT team, supporting radiology and cardiology systems critical to clinical operations across all company hospitals. Operating under close supervision, this role assists clinical staff by learning their PACS and cardiology system workflows, supporting basic improvements, and adopting organizational changes, such as new support tools, to ensure hospital-level reliability. With a commitment to customer advocacy and the desire to rapidly learn the imaging systems landscape, the Associate escalates issues proactively and gathers feedback for projects like PACS upgrades, laying the foundation for growth in a dynamically structured IT environment.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + Assists division to formulate imaging and related product strategies, documents the strategy.

    + Collaborating with enterprise imaging application areas to implement plans for imaging applications standardization and optimization.

    + Works with ISA’s and Imaging team members to manage/facilitate implementation of workflow standards, best practices and utilization plans within a specialty area.

    + Participate in Budget planning and Strategy. Ensure the Clinical Imaging Refresh Inventory Template is update

    + Maintains imaging server, workstation, and application inventory.

    + Documents division imaging system configurations, dataflow paths, version control, backups, Image acquisition and management processes using standard documentation.

    + Monitors imaging systems data quality and integrity.

    + Ensures QA processes are in place in each division, backups are occurring in accordance with HCA policy,

    + Evaluates the Monthly Operations Report (MOR) for each location, facilitates plans to improve operational areas.

    + Monitors PACShealth scores and ensure they remain at target levels.

    + Responds to trends each system’s performance analytics, alerting and identifying areas for optimization.

    + Problem effort participation and participates in root cause analysis as trends in issues in specialty area(s) are identified.

    + Participates in the Architecture Review (ARC) process, communicates results and leads efforts to close gaps or provisions.

    + This position requires strong technical skills, people skills, personal drive, and the ability to see strategy through to execution in a matrixed reporting environment. Strong organization, written, verbal, and presentation skills are essential.

    Role Competencies and Expectations

    + Customer Advocate: Leveraging basic training in imaging systems, assists hospital clinical staff (e.g., radiologists, cardiology technologist) to understand their daily PACS and cardiology system workflows (e.g., image retrieval), supports minor workflow improvements under supervision, and gathers feedback for projects, like PACS upgrades, to aid implementation planning.

    + Independent: Operates under close supervision, following strict procedures to complete tasks like monitoring PACS archive queues, ensuring hospital-level reliability with regular supervisor guidance.

    + Expertise: Assists with basic system tasks (e.g., logging PACS server statuses) and escalates issues with detailed notes, demonstrating foundational knowledge of radiology and cardiology systems.

    + Initiative: Takes proactive steps for hospital-level needs, such as flagging PACS queue errors or incomplete logs when noticed, enabling timely fixes to support clinical staff under guidance.

    + Organization: Capable of maintaining accurate task records (e.g., backup logs) in hospital databases, following division templates, and communicates completion to supervisors in a directed format.

    + Leadership: Supports team collaboration during tasks like disaster recovery drills, adopts organizational changes (e.g., new support tools) as directed, and aligns with team processes under supervision.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    + One year of clinical imaging or healthcare IT experience

    + Clinical experience in Rad and/or CV or IT Technical Support

    + Basic Understanding of JCAHO, HIPAA, STS, ACC, MQSA, ACR and other governing body guidelines

    + Basic understanding of standards and emerging technologies, specific to imaging applications

    + Basic understanding of imaging support processes and workflow

    + Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information both verbally and in writing

    Preferred:

    + Strong understanding of HCA systems and procedures

    + Experience operating in HCA division or clinical facilities

    + Demonstrated customer orientation, excellent leadership and teaching abilities

    + Demonstrated advanced computer skills

    + 1+ years

    EDUCATION

    + Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
