    Medical Records Specialist

    **Location:** Mercy LIFE Norristown **,** 1430 Dekalb St **,** Norristown, PA

    **Status:** Full Time

    **Shift:** Monday – Friday, 8 am and 430 pm

    Position Purpose:

    Manage and maintain electronic and hard copy medical records for the PACE Organization, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.

    Position Details:

    Position will be onsite at the Norristown location but will provide support for multiple PACE sites. May occasionally require travel to other supported sites as needed.

    What you will do:

    + Ensure confidentiality of all medical records.

    + Upload medical record documents in the EMR system.

    + Fulfill medical record requests internally and externally as requested.

    + Log all incoming and outgoing medical record requests.

    + Responsible for participant recertifications as required by the State.

    + Coordinate with other PACE centers to obtain missing documentation.

    + Request records securely via a variety of methods, including necessary authorizations.

    + Respond to internal and external requests for participant EMR records.

    + Track all records sent out, including dates, recipient details, and contact information.

    + Support additional projects as needed.

    + Maintain an updated list of fax numbers for healthcare providers, hospitals, and nursing facilities

    + Maintain an up-to-date contact list of healthcare providers and assist with administrative tasks as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma/equivalent required.

    + One (1) year of medical records required.

    + Epic experience preferred.

    + Proactive, adaptable, and customer-focused with strong decision-making skills

    + Works independently with sound judgment and accountability.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication across diverse audiences.

    + Position may require 10% local travel.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.

    + Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.

    + Maintains confidentiality and handles frequent interruptions with professionalism.

    + Skilled in analyzing information and prioritizing tasks effectively.
