    Description:

    Purpose Obtains accurate and complete demographic and financial information from patients, physician offices and other insurance and electronic contacts. Obtain authorization for services from physician offices and payors before patient services are provided. Identify self-pay patients and those in need of financial assistance to refer patients in need to the financial advisor(s) in a timely manner. Follow up to ensure clarity and accuracy of information as it relates to complete billing information; consistent with Trinity Health’s values and mission

     

    This is a fully remote position, must be within driving distance of West Michigan.

     

    **Schedule:** Full time, 40 hours per week, 9a to 5:30p. First two weeks of EPIC training are M-F, 8a-430pm.

    What you will do:

    + Obtain and verify patient demographic and financial information.

    + Verify eligibility of insurance information and insurance benefits.

    + Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing payor websites to verify authorization for patient procedures and services.

    + Interact with physician offices, payors, patients to obtain authorizations and necessary information before services are provided.

    + Demonstrate excellence in phone etiquette with internal and external customers exhibiting courteous, active listening skills; use appropriate grammar and respond to requests/needs in a timely manner.

    What you will need:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent.

    + Knowledge of medical terminology.

    + National certification in HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.

    + Prior employment in a health care environment preferred.
