These roles encompass a range of activities from conceptual design to implementation and optimization, ensuring that systems operate efficiently and effectively. Engineer, Intermediate – IT Systems The Engineer, Intermediate – IT Systems provides expert, hands-on and remote support for Apple (macOS, iOS) and Android devices across UVA Health and UVA Community Health. This role plays a key part in ensuring reliable mobile connectivity, strong device security, and an exceptional end-user experience through effective management of macOS environments, enterprise mobile systems, and carrier relationships. Key Responsibilities + Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for macOS, iOS, and Android devices, addressing hardware, software, and connectivity issues both in person and remotely. + Manage and resolve tasks, incidents, and service requests within the ServiceNow ITSM platform, maintaining timely and accurate communication with customers. + Coordinate work with internal IT teams, external vendors, and service providers to ensure seamless delivery of mobile and Apple support services. + Collaborate with cellular carriers to audit services, validate billing, and align carrier configurations with enterprise Mobile Device Management (MDM) standards. + Administer and maintain enterprise MDM platforms including Ivanti and Intune, ensuring compliance with UVA Health’s security, privacy, and configuration policies. + Provide on-site and remote customer support, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience for clinical and administrative users. + Develop and deliver individual and group training sessions to enhance user proficiency and adoption of mobile and Apple technologies. + Travel occasionally to remote clinics to deliver onsite service and support. + Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (including evenings and weekends) to support critical operations and ensure system availability. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree Experience: 3 years relevant experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Licensure: Valid Virginia Driver's License required PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
