    **Work Schedule:** 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 4:30:00 PM)

    **Pay Range:** $63.10 - $106.01 per hour

    Summary:

    The Senior Director has accountability for a broad and evolving portfolio that spans patient access, navigation, clinical front-end operations, digital front door services, and related enterprise functions. The role ensures strong oversight of current areas of responsibility while maintaining the flexibility to assume additional ambulatory or hospital-based functions as organizational priorities and system growth require.

     

    The Senior Director drives system transformation through the design, execution, and sustainment of standardized workflows, centralized operations, digital innovations, and digital front door strategies that improve the patient journey and system performance. With oversight of a large, multidisciplinary leadership structure including directors, managers, supervisors, nurses, navigators, and access specialists, the Senior Director ensures seamless, equitable, and efficient access to care across all service lines. The role partners with executives, physician and nursing leadership, IT, digital health, and revenue cycle teams to advance growth, patient-centered care, and financial sustainability while leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.

    Required Qualifications

    • Master’s degree required.

    • Ten or more years of progressive leadership in healthcare access, digital health, clinical operations, or ambulatory services within a large integrated or academic health system.

    • Demonstrated success leading enterprise strategies, system-wide transformations, and multi-site operations.

    • Strong expertise in Epic, digital health platforms, telecom systems, digital front door solutions, and diagnostic scheduling technology.

    • Proven experience with large-scale budgets, operational turnaround, and financial management.

    • Knowledge of clinical access services including nursing triage, refills, and navigation, and ability to align them with care delivery models.

    • Ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams across hospital and ambulatory domains.

    • Commitment to advancing equity, innovation, patient-centered care, and digital engagement strategies.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Epic Cadence certification

    • CHAM certification

    • Nursing or clinical licensure

    • Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or equivalent certification

    • Senior leadership experience in enterprise-scale access operations across hospital, ambulatory, and digital front door environments

    Responsibilities:

    Key Responsibilities

    • Leads enterprise strategy for access, navigation, digital front door, and patient engagement solutions aligned with organizational goals for growth, patient experience, quality, and operational efficiency.

    • Provides system oversight for scheduling, referral management, navigation, and clinical access functions across primary care, specialty services, diagnostic imaging, and hospital operator services, with flexibility to expand scope to other ambulatory areas as assigned.

    • Directs access nursing services including triage, prescription refills, and care coordination, ensuring alignment with clinical standards and patient safety.

    • Oversees enterprise Access Center operations, digital front door services, telehealth scheduling, and centralized telecom platforms.

    • Leads scheduling and workflow governance, template management, Epic optimization, and integration of digital access platforms across the enterprise.

    • Drives enterprise digital front door strategy by overseeing online scheduling, telehealth, patient portals, virtual intake workflows, and other digital access platforms, ensuring seamless integration with clinical and operational services while enhancing patient engagement and experience.

    • Partners with IT, digital health, marketing, and physician leaders to expand technology-enabled access solutions, virtual care entry points, and patient engagement tools.

    • Aligns access operations with population health and value-based care strategies, supporting high-risk and complex patient populations.

    • Incorporates revenue cycle and financial strategies to optimize throughput, capacity utilization, and enterprise financial performance.

    • Manages multi-million dollar budgets with fiscal discipline across hospital and ambulatory access services.

    • Develops system-level analytics, dashboards, and reporting to drive accountability and inform executive decision-making.

    • Recruits, develops, and mentors leadership talent across the enterprise portfolio, ensuring succession readiness.

    • Represents access, navigation, and digital front door strategy at executive councils, physician forums, and governance committees.

    • Fosters a system-wide culture of accountability, equity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
