Pediatric Hospital Medicine – Clinical Faculty

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hospital Medicine at Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, is seeking a full-time BC/BE Academic Pediatric Hospitalist to join their faculty at Rush’s downtown campus in Chicago, IL.
We are looking for applicants committed to providing exceptional inpatient care to a diverse and complex population of patients. Special consideration will be given to candidates with hospitalist experience or completing a Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship.
Position Details
+ **Clinical Responsibilities:** Provide inpatient care on the General Pediatric Unit and General Care Nursery, collaborating with medical and surgical Pediatric subspecialties
+ Teaching & Education: This opportunity involves extensive teaching responsibilities with Rush's Pediatric Residency Program, Combined Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program, and Rush Medical College
+ **Scholarly Leadership:** Expected to lead scholarly initiatives within the Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine
+ **Faculty Appointment:** Candidates will be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, commensurate with their experience and accomplishments.
Preferred Experience:** **Candidates with background in one or more of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:
+ Quality improvement
+ Clinical research
+ Medical education research
+ Medical simulation
Required Qualifications
+ Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
+ Eligible to be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Illinois
+ Completion of an accredited Pediatric residency or Med-Peds residency
+ Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
The Rush University Children's Hospital (RUCH) is part of the Rush University Medical Center (RUMC). It is an academic medical center that has 110 pediatric beds. RUMC is a 671-bed hospital serving adults and children in downtown Chicago, Illinois. It includes the 58- adult bed Johnston R. Bowman Health Center, Rush University and Rush Health. Rush University is home to one of the first medical colleges in the Midwest and one of the nation’s top-ranked nursing colleges, as well as graduate programs in allied health, health systems management and biomedical research. The Medical Center also offers more than 70 highly selective residency and fellowship programs in medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. It has excellent residents. The Categorical Pediatrics and Medicine/Pediatrics residency programs have had a 99% pass rate on the General Pediatrics Certifying Examination offered by the American Board of Pediatrics in the past 4 years.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
**Pay Range:** $212,800 - $271,700
