People Services Specialist
Job Description:
We’re expanding our North America People team and seeking a People Services Specialist who thrives on delivering outstanding support to colleagues and managers. In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for our ~2,600 North America employees, managing a variety of HR inquiries and employee lifecycle transactions. Working as part of a collaborative team of four, you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to special projects and play an important role in shaping our journey toward a global, expert-led People shared services function.
You’ll have the opportunity to expand your HR skills in a stable and globally recognized fintech software company, and be part of a close-knit, supportive team that embraces the Sage values. Our commitment to work-life balance, learning & development, and giving back to our communities through the Sage Foundation (with 5 paid volunteering days per year) makes Sage a great place to grow your career.
This is a hybrid role, which will be based out of our Lawrenceville office 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a detail-oriented People Services Specialist to deliver high-quality support across a wide range of HR transactions and colleague inquiries. In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for employees and managers, responding to and processing requests such as new hires, transfers, promotions, payroll changes, benefits administration, and terminations. You’ll handle Tier 1 cases from start to finish via ServiceNow tickets and live chat—resolving straightforward to moderately complex issues while routing more advanced queries to specialist teams such as Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, or Employee Relations. On average, you’ll manage 25–35 tickets a day, making efficiency, accuracy, and empathy key to your success. You’ll guide colleagues to the right policies and resources, resolve Tier 1 issues, and escalate more complex cases to Tier 2 specialists when needed. With a focus on accuracy and service excellence, you’ll document requests in our case management system, track resolutions, and provide feedback to continuously improve processes. You’ll also support key People Services functions including payroll data collection, absence management, resourcing, offer letters, and employee references, while partnering with colleagues across the People team to ensure policies and programs are applied consistently. Beyond day-to-day operations, you’ll contribute to updating knowledge articles, identifying efficiencies, and supporting compliance with privacy, confidentiality, and legal standards. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your HR expertise while making a real impact on the employee experience.
What are we looking for?
To succeed as a People Services Specialist, you’ll bring at least 2 years of experience as an HR Generalist in a large corporate environment, with a strong grasp of U.S. employment law and HR compliance (an HR degree or certification is a plus). You’re confident working with HR ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and experienced in using an HRIS to manage cases and support the full employee lifecycle. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, along with excellent planning and organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’re a strong communicator—both written and verbal—who listens actively, builds trust, and delivers outstanding customer service with empathy. Known for being resourceful and solutions-oriented, you bring a proactive approach to problem-solving and the adaptability to succeed in a complex and evolving environment.
What’s in it for you?
• Competitive annual bonuses
• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
• 401(k) retirement match (100% matching up to 4%)
• 32 days paid time off (22 personal days & 10 national holidays)
• 18 weeks of paid parental leave (offered 1 year after the start date)
• Work Away Program: Opportunity to work & play for 10 weeks from another country (Sage-approved list)
• Sage Foundation: 5 days paid yearly to volunteer
• $5,250 tuition reimbursement per calendar year starting 6 months after the hire date
• Sage Wellness Rewards Program ($600 wellness credit and $360 fitness reimbursement annually)
