    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to support a physician by managing 18-22 patients daily. The role involves conducting comprehensive patient work-ups, including collecting previous medical history, manual vital signs, blood draws, and medication reconciliation. This position is crucial in providing care to an underserved population, primarily consisting of patients aged 55 and above.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct full patient work-ups, including obtaining previous medical history.

    + Perform manual vital sign assessments.

    + Draw blood using both straight needles and butterfly techniques.

    + Reconcile patient medications accurately.

    + Ensure high-quality care for elderly patients, given the demographic focus on individuals aged 55+.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in phlebotomy and blood draw techniques.

    + Hands-on experience with both straight needle and butterfly blood draws.

    + High school diploma or equivalent education (GED).

    + Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic program.

    + A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience working with geriatric patients is advantageous.

    + Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is preferred.

    Work Environment

    The role operates within a structured schedule, either from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm or 8 am to 5 pm. The Medical Assistant will room 18-22 patients daily, with appointments scheduled at 30-minute intervals. This position requires a commitment to serving an underserved population with a focus on providing compassionate care.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, Missouri.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
