Job Title: Safety Coordinator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to oversee and manage safety protocols at our construction sites. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with safety guidelines, conducting audits, and engaging with crews to promote a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
+ Review project safety guidelines, site-specific safety plans, and client-specific safety requirements.
+ Coordinate with the regional safety lead to ensure availability of necessary safety signage and PPE.
+ Confirm completion of required safety orientation training by all on-site personnel.
+ Gather and organize documentation from subcontractors, including Job Hazard Analyses, Safety Data Sheets, and Training Certifications.
+ Conduct daily safety audits and share findings with the project team to ensure timely resolution.
+ Submit a minimum of two Safety Observation Reports weekly.
+ Spend 60–70% of the time in the field engaging with crews and monitoring safety practices.
+ Attend and contribute to daily huddles, coordination meetings, and preconstruction meetings.
+ Lead or support weekly all-hands safety meetings and prepare necessary materials.
+ Spot-check safety documentation during site visits and review various safety plans and permits.
+ Notify the project team and regional safety lead of any incidents or near-misses immediately.
+ Assist in incident investigations and ensure a 'Lessons Learned' summary is created for each incident.
+ Conduct site-specific safety orientations for all trade partners.
+ Maintain regular communication with subcontractor safety representatives.
+ Participate in or lead planning meetings for high-risk activities.
+ Maintain clear and frequent communication with the project team and safety leadership.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in safety roles, or at least 3 years directly with Data Center Experience.
+ Certifications such as CHST, CSP, or STSC.
+ Experience in data center or commercial building construction projects.
+ Excellent communication skills across all levels of project teams.
+ Reliability and ability to support project schedules.
+ OSHA 30 certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Prior experience supporting data center construction projects is highly preferred.
+ Experience in commercial building construction will be considered.
+ Ability to work on sites requiring NDAs is a plus.
+ Punctuality and flexibility to accommodate project schedules starting as early as 5:00 or 6:00 AM.
+ Ability to pass a background check and drug/alcohol test.
Work Environment
The position is located on-site in Ashburn, VA, requiring 90% fieldwork and 10% office work. The workweek runs from Tuesday to Saturday with expected hours ranging from 40 to 50 hours per week. You are required to remain on-site during active construction hours and be flexible to extend hours as needed. The role emphasizes a strong safety-first culture and collaboration.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashburn, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
