    Front End Pharmacy Technician

     

    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM (overtime available after training)

     

    Contract Length: 4 months, with potential for extension

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Front End Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support pharmacy operations by entering new prescriptions, resolving exceptions, and communicating with physician offices and patients. This is a great opportunity for individuals with healthcare or pharmacy experience who thrive in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Assist pharmacists under direct supervision in compliance with state and federal regulations

    + Process new patient registrations and prescription requests while maintaining HIPAA standards

    + Troubleshoot missing prescription information and interpret medical abbreviations

    + Load insurance plans and coordinate benefits for new patients

    + Communicate with patients and prescribers via phone and written correspondence

    + Support pharmacy staff and escalate issues as needed

    + Perform additional duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or GED

    + Basic computer skills, including navigating online systems and typing at least 25 WPM

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Must be 18 years of age or older

    + Pharmacy Technician Certification and current Arizona Pharmacy Technician or Trainee License preferred

    + Experience in healthcare, specialty pharmacy, PBM, or call center environments

    Preferred Skills

    + At least 1 year of experience in healthcare, pharmacy, PBM, or customer service

    + Familiarity with MS Windows and Office Suite

    + Ability to communicate professionally and maintain confidentiality

    + Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

    Work Environment

    This role begins with a 12-week training period. Attendance is critical during the first 30 days—missing more than 4 hours may result in a delayed start. After training, overtime opportunities are available during evenings and weekends. The team environment is collaborative and focused on delivering high-quality service.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $21.50/hr.
