Manufacturing Engineering Technician I
Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician I supports manufacturing operations by assisting in product testing, process documentation, and troubleshooting. The technician plays a vital role in the development and validation of production processes to ensure consistent quality and performance of components and systems.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze engineering drawings, work instructions, and process documentation to assist production teams in understanding and executing procedures.
+ Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to carry out product evaluations and support development activities.
+ Draft test protocols, execution plans, and summary reports under guidance from senior engineers.
+ Participate in process validation efforts to confirm that products meet design and performance criteria.
+ Serve as a technical resource for operations, clarifying specifications and process requirements.
+ Assist maintenance personnel with advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics of manufacturing equipment.
+ Investigate product and equipment failures to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
+ Source and request tooling and equipment through established procurement channels.
+ Support welding and brazing process development and qualification efforts.
+ Perform other duties as assigned, exercising sound judgment and discretion in decision-making.
+ Maintain regular and reliable attendance, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or extended hours as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Technical drawing and process interpretation to support operations.
+ Failure analysis and troubleshooting, requiring a solid understanding of mechanical systems, testing methods, and analytical thinking.
+ Process validation and test planning to ensure products meet design and performance standards.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
+ Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment, including raw material handling and assembly operations.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across teams to drive results.

This role involves working within the Engineering department as well as on the manufacturing floor. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Simi Valley, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $54.74 - $54.74/hr.
