    BUSINESS UNIT: PRODUCT PIPELINES

    Kinder Morgan is the largest independent transporter of petroleum products in North America, transporting approximately 2.4 million barrels per day. The great majority of these products are transported through our Products Pipelines business, which moves gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, renewable fuels and condensate through about 9,500 miles of pipelines. We also have approximately 65 liquids terminals in this business segment that store fuels and offer blending services for ethanol and renewable fuels, as well as a condensate processing facility in the gulf coast and five transmix processing facilities throughout the United States

    Position Requirements

    PRIMARY PURPOSE Responsible for day to day optimization of Kinder Morgans transmix processing facilities. This involves customer interface, inter-department interface, problem solving, deal execution and project development with respect to the Products Pipelines business unit’s Transmix facilities. Interacts with facility operations to identify constraints. Develops business projects to further improve Transmix revenue generation. Pursues long and short-term agreements with third parties to optimize revenue generation at each of the facilities. Identifies potential opportunities through the utilization of market research, industry discussions, and statistical and economic analysis.

    Experience / Specific Knowledge:

    + A minimum of 7 years of diverse and progressively responsible industry related experience.

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, business or equivalent professional experience.

    + Experience should demonstrate proficiency in working with operations, asset optimization, trading/deal execution, knowledge of distillation processes and economic analysis.

    + Prior experience working with legal documents and/or detailed and confidential material.

    Competencies, skills, and abilities:

    + Ability to execute commercial agreements for purchase and sale of products

    + Ability to negotiate customer agreements.

    + Ability to develop business documents such as customer letters, proposals, summaries, etc.

    + Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the petroleum business, fundamentals of refining and key market factors

    + Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

    + Well-balanced interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communications skills are required.

    + Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.

    + Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions.

    + Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction.

    + Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
