JOB SUMMARY

The warehouse lead directly supervises the employees in the warehouse. The Warehouse Lead will work with the Supervisor and/or Manager within the department of the food manufacturing warehouse to ensure efficient and accurate goals are met or exceeded daily. They are responsible for the communication and proper execution of job assignments by means of training, placement of warehouse personnel, safety, and ensuring all productivity goals, company standards, and procedures are met.

Provides constructive and positive feedback to help build employee confidence and develop their skills. Responsible to help coach, develop, and mentor team members.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, ensure products are properly rotated, stacked, stocked, sorted, inventoried, and delivered to their proper destination, storage area, truck, or department in a timely manner. The line is properly stocked during assembly runs, quality and completion goals are met, and closely inspects the output for run rates, quality and shift to company standards. Drives production goals, sets the pace for productivity, may correct unsafe actions and ensures proper processes are followed. Duties include:

• Leads warehouse team members to assign tasks, achieve productivity results, work safely, and

• Implements the business plan for assigned area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling,

• Works along with warehouse staff in daily activities while proactively driving best practices and improvements over a team of employees.

• Responsible to ensure guidelines are adhered to for product & process safety, security, food safety, the materials, supplies, and labor.

• Responsible for providing a safe work environment and food safety compliance, ensuring all productivity goals, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), policy, company standards, and procedures are met.

• Analyze potential problems and takes appropriate action to remedy any shortfall in performance, seeing actions through to completion/implementation. Continuously monitors quality of work performed.

• Consistently monitors activity to achieves agreed targets and KPIs.

• Ensure shipping and receiving operations are completed timely and accurately.

• Ensure warehouse associates are trained on logistics, shipping and receiving practices, compliance, accuracy and efficient work practices

• Ensure operations has all required packaging and materials to maintain flow & reduce downtime.

• Must have knowledge of all standard productivity rates & ensure warehouse personnel are meeting them.

• Must be proactive in notifying mechanical issues to Maintenance.

• Input Red Zone notifications when necessary.

• Ensure quality and safety of the product by enforcing company policies and procedures.

• Ensure the safe operation of employees operating material handling equipment.

• Thoroughly complete paperwork associated with job requirements.

• Verifies full completion and accuracy of picks to the production lines and outbound deliveries.

• Pursues continuous improvement.

• Perform other duties as assigned by warehouse Supervisor or Manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education.

• Experience in a related position preferred

• A team player with previous experience working in a chilled food warehouse or manufacturing environment

• Experience tracking inventory materials and supplies and using an Inventory Scan gun and helpful

• Previous experience operating all types of MHE including, stand up forklift, stand up reach lift, sit down forklift, rider pallet jacks, and man up cherry picker.

• Good knowledge and understanding of Safe work practices common to food warehousing or manufacturing

• Basic computer skills (Word and Excel) preferred.

• Ability to risk assess and monitor productivity in a fast-paced environment and adjust ways of working accordingly

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to lead a team of employees to achieve goals and targets

• Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) safe work practices, GMP’s, HACCP, and Quality Assurance practices in a food warehouse or manufacturing environment

• Knowledge of proper cleaning/sanitation of production areas and equipment

• Ability to work in a cold/ damp environment, stand and walk for extended periods

• Must be able to complete common paperwork related to inventory, receiving and material handling

• Ability to read computer generated reports

• Must have strong interpersonal and employee relation skills

• Ability to read, comprehend and speak professionally with team members

• Must have basic mathematical skills

WORK DEMANDS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this Job work is primarily performed in a chilled environment. Regularly required to stand, walk, squat, stoop, bend, reach, talk or hear. Required to use hands and fingers finger, handle, lift, feel, push, or pull objects. Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently. Often required to lift and carry 10 lbs. force constantly to move objects. Exposed to chilled or warm temperatures within the operation. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
