             Job Title: Electronics Design Engineer Job Description This engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of advanced electronic systems used in motor controls, instrumentation, and industrial machinery. The role involves both hardware and embedded system design, with opportunities to focus on either power/drive electronics or analog/control systems, depending on experience. Responsibilities + Design and implement control and drive electronics for complex machinery and equipment. + Develop detailed design packages, perform testing, and troubleshoot system performance. + Apply analytical methods, simulations, and modeling tools to validate designs. + Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on high-impact projects. + Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards in a highly controlled environment. + Contribute to continuous improvement and technology innovation within the organization. Essential Skills + Master's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. + 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally 10+. + Experience with either motor controls design or analog design. + Proficiency with common engineering tools such as PSPICE, MATLAB, Simulink, and OrCAD. + Strong understanding of electrical systems ranging from low-voltage DC through three-phase AC. + Solid in hardware design, circuit analysis, and system troubleshooting. + Familiarity with industry codes and standards (UL, IEEE, NEC, ANSI, OSHA, or NUREGS). + Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. + Must be a have the ability to obtain or hold a DOE 'Q' security clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. + 6+ years of experience in industrial or power electronics design (Master’s or 12+ years of experience preferred). + Hands-on experience with manufacturing environments, embedded systems design, or R&D projects. + Active DOE 'Q' or Top Secret clearance. + Experience in the nuclear, defense, or other highly regulated industries. + Skilled in power electronics, electric motor design, or embedded software development. + Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges with innovative, practical solutions. Work Environment The role is based in an on-site manufacturing and office environment, providing a hands-on opportunity to support cutting-edge energy technology with significant visibility to engineering leadership and the Department of Energy. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
