Job Title: Medical Assistant
Job Description
The Medical Assistant will support a single physician by managing 18-22 patients daily. This role involves conducting comprehensive patient assessments, including collecting previous medical history, performing manual vitals, drawing blood, and reconciling medications. The position requires hands-on experience with both straight needle and butterfly blood draw techniques, with an emphasis on working with elderly patients.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct full workups on patients, gathering all previous medical history.
+ Perform manual vitals and blood draws using both straight needle and butterfly techniques.
+ Reconcile patient medications accurately.
+ Manage rooming for 18-22 patients daily, with appointments scheduled at 30-minute intervals.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in phlebotomy and blood draw techniques.
+ Completion of a nationally accredited program in Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, EMT, or Paramedic.
+ Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, EMT, or Paramedic.
+ BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent education (GED).
+ Experience working with geriatric patients.
+ Preferred experience with EMR systems.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from either 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role involves rooming patients at 30-minute intervals, focusing on serving the underserved population aged 55 and older.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
