    Job Title: Equipment SpecialistJob Description

     

    Join our dynamic team as an Equipment Specialist, where you will play a critical role in supporting lab start-up and construction activities. Your expertise in commissioning, qualification, and materials management will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation and compliance of our cutting-edge laboratory facilities.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide daily triage and on-site support as part of the construction and lab start-up team.

    + Aid in coordinating with vendors and contractors to ensure smooth equipment delivery and installation.

    + Develop and execute commissioning protocols including Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) for all lab equipment.

    + Troubleshoot issues and ensure documentation meets compliance and validation standards.

    + Establish and organize a structured storage area for raw materials and spare equipment.

    + Implement an inventory management system to track consumables, reagents, and spare parts.

    + Support the overall project team in meeting key daily and weekly milestones.

    + Facilitate receipt, setup, and functional testing of lab equipment at all scales.

    + Develop and maintain a list of spares for all deployed equipment.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience writing and executing IQ/OQs for HPLCs, GCs, and other general lab equipment such as refrigerators and freezers.

    + Experience with bioreactors and cell culture equipment ranging from 5L to 5000L.

    + Experience with ERP systems.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

    + Minimum 5 years of experience in lab operations or bioprocessing, ideally involving single-use technologies.

    + Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, commissioning protocols (IQ/OQ), and laboratory best practices.

    + Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and project management teams.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Comfortable working with a remote manager and providing weekly updates.

    + Willing to track work completed on a weekly basis and monitor deliverables.

    + Ability to organize, schedule, and work independently.

    Work Environment

    This position involves working onsite in a lab environment. The role offers the potential for extension based on the overall progress of the site setup.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Plainville, Massachusetts.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $70.00/hr.
