    Job Title: Entry-Level Power Distribution EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Power Distribution Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to establish a career in the field. Individuals will primarily work in the field, contributing to the drafting, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Projects will be located in North Carolina and Virginia, supporting small municipalities. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work with a respected firm and build a meaningful career.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in the design and layout of overhead and underground power distribution systems.

    + Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and equipment sizing.

    + Support the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, field engineers, and utility representatives.

    + Conduct site visits to gather data and support construction activities.

    + Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.

    + Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities.

    + Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, GIS, and power system analysis programs.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline).

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent (required).

    + 0–3 years of experience in utility field work or related fields such as construction, solar, renewables, engineering, or surveying (preferred).

    + Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) is a plus.

    + Proficiency with field data software and tech-savvy.

    + Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

    + Strong communication and organizational skills.

    + Experience with field survey equipment.

    + Understanding of electrical distribution systems.

    + Commitment to safety protocols and quality assurance.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bracey, Virginia.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
