Job Title: Interior DesignerJob Description
As an Interior Designer, you will be responsible for the technical and design aspects of major projects, ensuring solutions meet clients' needs. You will select and specify furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), conduct research, and gather pricing and specifications. Your role will also involve coordinating with consultants and FF&E dealers, developing design solutions, and creating visual materials such as plans, 3D renderings, and finish boards.
Responsibilities
+ Investigate, evaluate, and recommend design solutions tailored to client needs.
+ Select and specify FF&E; conduct research and gather pricing, specifications, and lead times.
+ Coordinate with consultants and FF&E dealers, assisting in the development of FF&E specifications.
+ Develop and contribute to design solutions aligned with client goals.
+ Create plans, 3D renderings, presentation drawings, finish boards, and other visual materials.
+ Participate in client meetings and collect programming data.
+ Support project managers as needed.
+ Conduct field surveys and document existing conditions; create Revit models.
+ Produce construction document sets according to established drawing standards.
+ Participate in submittal processes, addenda sketches, drawing revisions, and permitting.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Revit is required.
+ Experience in interior design and FF&E is mandatory.
+ Knowledge of architectural design, Sketchup, construction drawings, and schematic design.
+ Experience with educational projects, floor plans, elevations, and drafting.
+ Ability to produce construction documentation and detail production.
+ Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, site surveys, zoning, and AutoCAD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design is required.
+ At least 1 year of post-graduate experience.
+ Previous experience with educational, municipal, workplace, or public projects is preferred.
+ Experience with FF&E in a design firm or working with furniture dealers.
Work Environment
Join a 30-person firm located in the Loop, known for its strong family feel and commitment to employee success. Initially, employees are required to work in-office full-time, transitioning to a hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office and 2 days remotely. All employees have their own desk space, close to team members. The firm provides 100% premium coverage for health, dental, and life insurance for permanent employees. The firm hosts frequent townhall meetings and biannual performance reviews with principals to discuss employee goals and feedback.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $65000.00/hr.
