             Job Title: Industrial Forklift Operator Job Description We are seeking candidates to operate sit down forklifts (30k lb lift) and overhead cranes to unload trucks and supply raw materials to fabrication lines. The role primarily involves moving and offloading large steel pieces, such as beams and columns, in outdoor environments where these materials are stored. Responsibilities + Operate sit down forklifts and overhead cranes to unload trucks and move raw materials. + Work primarily outdoors, offloading large steel pieces. + Ensure accurate reading and understanding of BOL and other instructions for product pulling. + Cross-train in multiple departments as needed and demonstrate flexibility in tasks. + Maintain attention to detail, care for the job, and accurately read tape measures. Essential Skills + 1-2 years experience working as a forklift operator in a heavy industrial environment. + Experience with crane operation is ideal. + Ability to operate large forklifts, specifically 30k lb lifts. + Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with reading blueprints and inventory management. + Familiarity with construction environments and material handling. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is located in a non-climate-controlled steel fabrication facility, requiring work in both hot and cold conditions. Candidates must be comfortable in a loud, heavy industrial setting with a strong emphasis on safety. Steel toe boots and safety glasses are mandatory. Shifts are available on both 1st (6am-4:30pm) and 2nd (3:30pm-2am) shifts, with mandatory overtime and a minimum of 50 hours per week, including one Saturday per month. The facility includes overhead cranes, welding stations, metal fabricating machines, and a material yard. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
