    Job Title: Production Supervisor

    Job Description

    The Production Supervisor is tasked with managing employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This role involves planning and assigning work while ensuring compliance with safety, GMP, and Food Safety standards. The Production Supervisor is also responsible for recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.

    Responsibilities

    + Work with all Line Managers/Supervisors to implement and adhere to the production schedule while achieving maximum production.

    + Assign personnel to positions on the lines at the start of the shift according to their area of knowledge.

    + Act as a leader by communicating with line staff regarding scheduling, daily performance, problems, overtime, and quality issues.

    + Conduct ongoing assessment of quality control and operational procedures.

    + Review worksheets and inspect coding machines to ensure code numbers align with packaging specifications.

    + Ensure paperwork for each assignment is completed properly.

    + Coordinate and share current production and schedules with the next shift’s lead person to ensure smooth and efficient transitions.

    + Train, develop, motivate, reward, and discipline assigned staff while ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and procedures.

    + Conduct employee reviews, acknowledgments, and disciplinary actions.

    + Step in and perform duties of other Production Supervisors in their absence.

    + Supervise and participate in the setup, sanitation, operation, and routine maintenance of production lines and supporting equipment.

    + Troubleshoot equipment problems and notify maintenance if serious issues occur.

    + Ensure lines are supplied with all necessary components and maintain inventory.

    + Collaborate with customer service to recognize priority products and necessary components.

    + Track and analyze man-hour reports per line, department, and product.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred with six to eight years related experience or equivalent.

    + Experience with Quality Systems: SQF, HACCP, ISO, Kosher, Organic, and other based systems.

    + Knowledge of FDA principles of HACCP Food Safety Programs, SQF Certification (GFSI), and 5S Process.

    + Understanding of Food Safety, Food Defense, and Quality Systems.

    + Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.

    + Proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.

    + Commitment to excellence and high standards.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    + Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks.

    + Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

    + Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

    + Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within changing priorities.

    + Ability to work independently and as a member of teams and committees.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and MRP Software, preferably DBA Manufacturing.

    + Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

    + Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.

    + Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.

    + Ability to understand and meet safety requirements and cautions.

    + Physical capability to perform necessary labor.

    Work Environment

     

    This position requires working onsite in Livermore, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. The physical requirements include walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, standing, and climbing stairs/ladders. Employees must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and operate machinery. The work environment involves spending a significant amount of time in a warehouse where temperatures can be cool or hot, and noise levels can be moderate to high. Common protective gear such as gloves, face masks, hairnets, and uniforms are required. Exposure to small particles and odors is part of the job.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Livermore, California.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
