Job Title: Encapsulation Operator
Job Description
Join a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in supplement contract manufacturing. As an Encapsulation Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of nutraceuticals, functional foods, and dietary supplements. You will be responsible for the efficient operation, sanitation, and maintenance of encapsulation machinery, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
+ Perform set-up, sanitation, operation, and routine maintenance of encapsulation machines.
+ Clean machines, related equipment, and work areas using water, solvents, and other cleaning aids.
+ Ensure capsulation machine and area are sanitary at all times, reporting any sanitation issues to the supervisor.
+ Read work orders and Master Manufacturing Record to determine production specifications.
+ Pour, scoop, or dump specified mixtures into sections of the machine prior to starting machines.
+ Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures to meet product specifications.
+ Perform test runs to ensure equipment is set up properly.
+ Examine, measure, weigh, or test sample capsules to ensure conformance to specifications.
+ Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment as necessary.
+ Count and record finished and rejected items.
+ Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of capsules.
+ Sort, grade, weigh, and inspect capsules, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement.
+ Inspect and remove defective capsules.
+ Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
+ Record and maintain production data such as meter readings and quantities produced.
+ Transfer completed capsules from machines to drying or storage areas using handcarts or storage containers.
+ Ensure completed capsules in pans/storage containers are covered at all times.
+ Conduct ongoing assessment of quality control and operational procedures.
+ Meet and/or exceed production goals and guidelines for the product being run.
+ Comply with all rules and regulations in the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
+ Follow all SOPs, GMPs, Safety Rules, and other State and Federal Health Guidelines.
Essential Skills
+ 1 to 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
+ Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and techniques for maximizing manufacture and distribution.
+ Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
+ Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
+ Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
+ Ability to perform physical labor as necessary.
+ Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

+ Ability to understand and follow any and all safety requirements and cautions.
+ Ability to operate a hand truck, forklift, and pallet jack (if required).

Work Environment
The position requires working in a warehouse where temperatures can be cool or hot, and noise levels range from moderate to high. Protective gear such as gloves, face masks, hairnets, and uniforms are required. Physical activities include walking, kneeling, bending, standing, reaching, twisting, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using hands to operate machinery.

This position based out of Livermore, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
