    Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Bookkeeper role for a company in Carson City. The person in this role serves as the right hand to the Controller and is primarily responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and reconciliations.

     

    Summary: The Bookkeeper is responsible for all day-to-day operational and transactional accounting activities related to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. The Bookkeeper is also currently responsible for assisting in some administrative activities such as sorting mail, answering front desk calls, and greeting visitors. Other duties may be requested as needed.

     

    Answer front desk calls

     

    Sort/distribute incoming mail or packages

     

    Greet visitors

     

    Match & Code Vendor Invoices

     

    Enter Vendor Invoices

     

    Gather & Organize Customer Payments

     

    Review Bank Activity for needed entries

     

    Enter Customer Payments

     

    Communicate with Purchasing regarding invoice issues

     

    Communicate with Orders regarding customer balance issues

     

    Perform Collections and follow-ups on a weekly basis

     

    Prepare Vendor Payments

     

    Review & Code Freight Invoices

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE

    • Minimum of Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.

    • Requires experience in accounting or erp software.

    • Analytical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to make confident decisions are also required.

    • Broad knowledge of accounting procedures and principles, typing skills and 10 key adding machine by touch.

    • At least three years of experience in bookkeeping or a related accounting role.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

    • Familiarity with accounting software systems.
