Our client is a leading insurance organization known for its strong financial performance, collaborative culture, and commitment to innovation. With a global footprint and a reputation for excellence, they are seeking a Senior Reinsurance Accountant to join their high-performing Finance team.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Reinsurance Accountant, you will play a key role in the accounting, analysis, and reporting of complex reinsurance arrangements. You will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reinsurance financial data, contribute to process improvements, and support management in key decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys working in a dynamic, international insurance environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare, analyze, and reconcile reinsurance accounts, statements, and settlements (ceded and assumed).

+ Ensure timely and accurate recording of reinsurance transactions in accordance with GAAP/IFRS and regulatory requirements.

+ Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and claims teams to validate reinsurance data and support operational processes.

+ Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including disclosures and footnotes related to reinsurance.

+ Review reinsurance contracts and provide accounting interpretation and guidance.

+ Support audits and respond to external auditor queries related to reinsurance.

+ Drive process improvements and contribute to automation and system enhancements within the reinsurance accounting function.

+ Mentor junior accountants and share technical expertise across the Finance team.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

+ 3-4+ years of progressive accounting experience within reinsurance accounting or at least 5 years of experience within insurance accounting

+ Strong understanding of reinsurance principles, ceded/assumed arrangements, and treaty/accounting processes.

+ Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

+ Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
