    The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Dermatology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant 1 to work in Miami, FL. The Certified Nursing Assistant 1 performs standard patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse. The incumbent assists patients in dressing and undressing, bathing, and eating, and collects noninvasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs. The Certified Nursing Assistant 1 aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures and documents patient interactions.

    CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

    + Responsible for the sterilization and maintenance of instruments and equipment.

    + Maintain updated knowledge of sterile techniques and maintain a sterile environment during procedures.

    + Provide additional support for triage unit and assist with incoming calls as needed.

    + Administers non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths, and applies restraints.

    + Ensure rooms are appropriately equipped and ready to use

    + Stock each clinic room on a regular basis throughout the day, and rotate inventory, assure all stock is within expiration limits.

    + Assist with inventory counts and controls as directed by nursing supervisors.

    + Assist with medical records, paperwork, etc.

    + Document any/all communication with the patient within the medical record, office visits, telephone conversations, messages, etc.

    + Consistently maintain complete confidentiality regarding patient care as per HIPAA requirements

    + Conduct daily activities, communications, and interactions in a positive and professional manner

    + Identify and report potential and active environmental safety hazards

    + Implement clinical and technical aspects of patient care with proper technique, procedure and safety precautions

    CORE QUALIFICATIONS

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Certification in relevant specialty or field

    + 0-1 year of relevant experience

    + Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

    + Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

    + Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

    + Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

    + Commitment to the University’s core values.

    + Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
