Position Description: We are seeking a Junior IT Project Manager (PMO environment) under our San Diego, CA client's PMO model to join our CGI team! While this position could be completed remotely for the right skillset, the "preferred" location is one of our Onshore Delivery Centers in either Belton, TX or Henderson, NV, as well as, other Western Region states in proximity to a CGI office. Must be able to work PST hours due to our client being located in San Diego, CA. You will be responsible for the overall success of CGI's client directed initiatives, including coordination, communication, planning, scope management, issue and risk management, and project execution. Responsible for managing the client relationship(s) on a daily & ongoing basis from pre-planning to closure of each assigned project. This will include general, ongoing communications, negotiation of scope and schedule changes (as they occur and ahead of time), tracking key risks proactively, all identified issues to clear and documented resolution, and all/ongoing progress reporting required by the CGI client that are specific to the account procedures. You will shape client expectations & manage scope related to the project with concise and collaborative emails & status updates. Your future duties and responsibilities: How you'll make an impact • Project Management skills including building a Smartsheet project plan (Waterfall or Agile) • Client stakeholder management • Facilitating and scheduling client meetings for CGI team in San Diego Metro for the Modernization • Evaluating project requirements and proactively taking ownership of the deliverables, timeline, budget, etc. • Manage financials associated with any/all client assigned budgets and projects • Follow/adhere to all CGI training and client related policies and procedures • Manage, distribute and review regularly a Project RAID log • Administrative tasks to be owned and completed on time for both client and CGI on an ongoing basis • Attend all PMO related meetings and CGI metro level readouts • Communicate effectively within CGI and within the client setting • General IT knowledge, 2 to 4 years working in the IT industry with tangible SDLC delivery experience • Organize and participate in project meetings/sessions and propose improvements, if appropriate • Prepare presentation materials for meetings and reporting, including executive level • Document meetings with minutes, action items, and share with stakeholders • Evaluate potential problems and propose solutions • Plan and manage team goals, project schedules, and new information • Be responsible for current work, according to plan, and coordinate with all team members to keep workflow on track • A PMP or similar Project Management credentials Required qualifications to be successful in this role: What you'll bring 2 to 4 years of relevant project management experience • Scrum Master (preference not requirement) • Solid project management skills related to project planning and control, scope management, issue and risk management, and quality management • Experience in managing software and network related projects using the software development lifecycle • Experience with State and Local Government and Education highly preferred (SLED) • Significant consulting experience in customer-facing engagements. The candidate will be expected to lead project teams including customers, 3rd party vendors, and other stakeholders in a professional manner, exhibiting confident leadership and accountability. • The candidate will effectively represent CGI to the client • Advanced written and verbal communication and presentation skills • Timely, decisive, and effective problem-solving skills • Demonstrated experience with consulting at the senior management and executive level • Behave in an ethical and professional manner • Handle the pressures of simultaneous tasks, issues, problems, and some ambiguity • Be flexible as to behavior or work methods in response to changes or new obstacles on a project • Self-motivated and organized PMO Applications & Tools: • Proficient in using MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint • Proficient in Smartsheet • Experience with SharePoint • Awareness / Knowledge of Agile project management principles Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree Other Information: CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $88,200.00 - $169,700.00.
