    Job Description:

    The Academic Department Manager (ADM) in the Division of Applied Mathematics manages the Division's financial, administrative, and human resource operations, ensuring that financial and administrative practices conform to university policies. The ADM works closely with the chair to facilitate strategic short and long-range plans to achieve the research, instructional, and financial missions of the Division while maintaining its excellent international reputation. The ADM directly supervises an administrative staff of seven and oversees administrative procedures affecting all faculty, staff, and students in the Division. The ADM supports the Chair in articulating policies, protocols, and other communications to staff and faculty.

     

    This position is hybrid-eligible.

    Education and Experiences:

    + Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of experience preferred in the areas of academic operations, financial and grant management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Excellent computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting systems and advanced Excel spreadsheets.

    + Strong experience in financial data analysis, planning, and accounting.

    + Prior experience in managerial, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

    + Supervisory experience is a plus.

    + Proficiency in supporting academic programs, units, or working in higher education.

    + Effective verbal and written communication skills.
