Job Title: Building Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Facilities Maintenance professional to work the mid-shift at a large commercial skyscraper in downtown Minneapolis. This Operating Engineer position offers the potential for advancement to an Assistant Chief Engineer role and other internal opportunities.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain and repair chillers, VAVs, air handlers, and associated systems.
+ Service utility generators, UPS systems, and commercial kitchen equipment.
+ Perform plumbing, lighting, and general mechanical maintenance tasks.
+ Maintain and troubleshoot pumps, cooling towers, and motors.
+ Conduct seasonal work, including small engine maintenance and adjusting pump volumes.
+ Perform chemical treatment/testing and replace filters and belts.
+ Execute preventive maintenance checks and lockout/tagout procedures.
+ Support critical facility operations and assist with general facilities upkeep and project work.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 5 years of building or facilities maintenance experience.
+ 2+ years of experience repairing HVAC systems, boilers, and troubleshooting equipment.
+ Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with plumbing, lighting, and general mechanical maintenance.
+ Ability to perform seasonal maintenance tasks and follow preventive maintenance procedures.

Work Environment
The work environment is collaborative and customer service-oriented, requiring interaction with multiple managers and high-level personnel. The role is on the first shift with flexibility: 6 AM-2:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with rotating on-call duties. Employees will receive a badge and building access during their first week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
