Job Title: Industrial Electrician
Job Description
As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for managing and executing electrical installations and troubleshooting tasks in industrial environments. This includes reading and interpreting architectural and electrical construction drawings, installing and connecting various electrical components, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
+ Read and understand architectural and electrical construction drawings, ladder diagrams, symbols, and schedules.
+ Prepare sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment and ensure concealed wiring is installed before completion of walls, ceilings, or floors.
+ Troubleshoot motors, motor controls, motor control centers, magnetic motor starters, transformers, and other equipment.
+ Install and connect push-button controls, limit switches, pressure switches, float switches, flow switches, and other types of motor control devices.
+ Pull branch circuit wiring and feeder cables through conduits and terminate or splice wires using approved methods and materials.
+ Connect wiring to lighting fixtures, motors, motor controllers, transformers, and other power equipment.
+ Install control and distribution systems, such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and transformers, fastening them in place with approved fasteners.
+ Connect power cables to equipment like electrical motors, motor controllers, and transformers, ensuring proper wire sizes and connections for voltage and amperage.
+ Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments.
+ Observe the function of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and needs for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
+ Layout and install electrical work for commercial and industrial projects following national code guidelines.
+ Measure, lay out, bend, and thread all types of electrical conduit (EMT, galvanized rigid, IMC, PVC).
+ Interact with customers and adhere to OSHA safety standards.
+ Instruct, train, and supervise apprentices.
+ Maintain daily time sheets.
Essential Skills
+ Extensive experience in laying out and installing commercial industrial wiring.
+ Minimum of 6 years of on-the-job training in addition to classroom training.
+ Active Journeyman License.
+ Electrical troubleshooting, installation, and repair skills.
+ Ability to work independently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with electrician, journeyman, foreman roles.
+ Skill in working with switches, schematics, layouts, wiring, bending conduit, and pulling wire.
+ Knowledge in electrical, industrial, PLC troubleshooting, and commercial and industrial applications.
+ Experience with cable trays, lighting, cable repair, and installation.

Work Environment
Work will primarily take place at an industrial facility in Wyandotte, with possible assignments at other industrial plants. Expect various weather conditions, from dirty, dusty, and hot environments to cold and temperature-controlled facilities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WYANDOTTE, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
