    Job Title: Structural Steel Welder - 2nd Shift

    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Welder to join our team for the 2nd shift. This role involves welding structural steel in both vertical and overhead positions, with minimal fabrication duties required initially. The position offers opportunities for overtime on the front end of the shift and on Saturdays.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform welding operations adhering to FCAW standards, with optional use of GTAW and SAW processes.

    + Operate equipment such as metal cutting saws, torches, plasmas, drills, weld gauges, material handling equipment, and grinders.

    + Set up welding machines for various job requirements and read welding symbols on plans and drawings.

    + Grind and perform various joint preparations, sequencing welds to prevent material distortion.

    Essential Skills

    + 5 or more years of experience in welding, preferably in structural steel.

    + Proficiency in MIG welding and flux core welding.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.

    + Competence with measuring tools and understanding of welding symbols.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Certification in several welding processes, including FCAW, is preferred.

    + Proper rigging techniques and technical skills in the welding trade.

    + Knowledge of structural steel shapes, sizes, and grades.

    Work Environment

     

    Work primarily takes place in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures throughout the year. The role may require the use of arms and legs for activities such as climbing ladders or scaffolding, lifting materials, and maintaining balance.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, Pennsylvanina

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
