Description We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant with expertise in construction accounting to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in managing financial operations for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional analytical abilities and a commitment to accuracy while collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain job cost codes for commercial construction projects to ensure accurate financial tracking.

• Process vendor invoices, verify approvals, and ensure appropriate coding for timely payments.

• Monitor project budgets and costs, providing detailed reports on profitability and performance.

• Reconcile subcontractor and supplier invoices with purchase orders and contracts to resolve discrepancies.

• Manage weekly payroll processing, including certified payroll, union reporting, and compliance with federal and state regulations.

• Prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress reports to support project financial evaluations.

• Facilitate general liability and workers compensation audits and ensure compliance with insurance requirements.

• Record general ledger transactions and reconcile credit card and bank accounts.

• Develop and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and documentation to support accounting operations.

• Organize and maintain digital and physical filing systems for efficient record keeping. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in commercial construction or general contracting.

• Proficiency in construction accounting software, such as ComputerEase, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Strong ability to manage multiple large-scale commercial projects simultaneously.

• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Demonstrated expertise in payroll processing, including compliance with union and prevailing wage requirements.

• Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies and issues promptly.

• Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

• Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
