Job Title: Mill Operator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mill Operator with a solid background in heavy industrial environments. The successful candidate will utilize computers to document production completion and ensure the correct raw materials are loaded onto the line. The role requires the ability to read and utilize measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to perform quality checks. Additionally, experience with gauges, shears, and changing over products on machines is essential.

Responsibilities

+ Utilize computer systems to document production completion.

+ Ensure correct raw materials are loaded onto the production line.

+ Perform quality checks using micrometers and calipers.

+ Change over products on machinery as needed.

+ Lead and guide assistants on tasks that need to be accomplished on the line.

Essential Skills

+ Machine operating experience.

+ Proficiency in basic math.

+ Heavy industrial experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Forklift operation is a plus.

+ Overhead crane experience is advantageous.

Work Environment

Our work environment is a collaborative space where teamwork is highly valued. We believe in learning from mistakes to continually improve. The dress code includes metatarsals, hard hats, glasses, long-sleeved shirts, and gloves. The environment is industrial, and the facility is a tube mill with a darker setting and no windows, resulting in a dirty and greasy atmosphere. Work shifts are typically 10-hour days from Monday through Thursday, with some opportunities for overtime on Friday and Saturday.

This is a Permanent position based out of Gary, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $60320.00/yr.
