Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Job Description
The Quality Technician is responsible for interpreting blueprints, writing Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs, performing dimensional layouts on CMM machines, and collaborating with the Quality Team to establish root cause analysis and corrective actions for part failures. The role involves generating and operating CMM programs for First Piece, In-Process, PPAPs, and special projects, as well as performing capability studies for required parts.
Responsibilities
+ Generate and operate CMM programs for First Piece, In-Process, PPAPs, and special projects, including R&D, Kaizen, customer return issues, and test lab product failures.
+ Perform capability studies for required parts.
+ Maintain CMM machines, including probe qualifications, calibration, and regular cleaning.
+ Utilize CMM data to identify and resolve problems and assist problem-solving teams focused on prevention and variance reduction.
+ Report on fixtures needed to hold products for testing during product development and set criteria for instruments and specifications.
+ Communicate with the Quality Department to develop dimensional test methods for the Quality Test Lab, First Article testing, and in-process checks on the floor.
+ Revise product programs and documents based on engineering changes as required.
+ Maintain a program library in an organized manner for easy access to verify testing criteria.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of mechanical inspection and operating CMM in a machine shop environment.
+ 3+ years of experience using PC-DEMIS.
+ Basic computer skills and experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Minitab.
+ Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with shop math, micrometer, caliper, inspection, and quality control.
+ Familiarity with tolerance measurements, Go No Go Gauge, Mahr System, Renishaw System, Keyence System.
+ Knowledge of quality inspection, quality checks, visual inspection, GD&T, and CMM programming.

Work Environment
The facility is a large establishment with 73 employees, plus temporary staff. It houses a Tool Room, Machine Shop, Assembly, Quality, and Warehouse departments. The quality team comprises a Quality Manager, Quality Engineer, two Quality Engineers, and eight Quality Inspectors.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin Park, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
