    Summary FLETC's mission is to train and support the training of federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officers and international partners that are responsible for enforcing laws, treaties, and regulations within the United States and abroad. Responsibilities Serving as a Facilities Project Manager GS-1601-11/12 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Artesia, New Mexico Typical duties include: Serves as a Project Manager, with overall responsibility for planning, scoping, developing, designing, constructing, directing, analyzing and evaluating of construction projects of varying scope and complexity. Assures the overall planning, executing, management, control, and coordination of assigned projects. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the federal service providing project management services for construction, facilities maintenance, and renovation projects, -OR- 2. Successful completion of a Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited college or university that is directly related to the work of the position, -OR- 3. Successful completion of three full years of higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph. D from an accredited college or university that is directly related to the work of the position, -OR- 4. Successful completion of an LL.M., from an accredited college or university that is directly related to the work of the position, -OR- 5. An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate level education. (Only graduate in excess of first 36 semester hours MUST provide a copy of transcripts. You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the federal service, providing project management services for significant construction and renovation projects such as planning, scoping, developing, designing, and overseeing construction activities and analyzing and evaluating projects requirements ensuring compliance with regulations standards. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first two years may be used to qualify for the GS-11 level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement. Note: Current or former Federal employees MUST submit a copy of their SF-50 Form which shows competitive service appointment ("position occupied" block 34 on the SF-50 should show a "1"), tenure group (block 24 should show a 1 or 2), grade, and salary. Background Investigation: To ensure the accomplishment of our mission, FLETC requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy. Physical Demands: In addition to the work performed in the office, position regularly visits construction sites, involving prolonged standing while monitoring construction operations. Work Environment: In addition to the work that may be performed in an office setting, the duties involve regular and recurring visits to construction sites. Such visits require use of appropriate protective clothing or gear such as safety glasses and shoes, ear protection, hard hats, and observance of appropriate safety precautions.
