    This is hybrid position based in Fremont, CA; candidates must live within commuting distance and be onsite 4 days per week.

    What You Will Do

    + Lead and develop high-performing R&D teams by executing a robust talent strategy focused on attraction, retention, and engagement.

    + Drive cross-functional collaboration to solve complex technical and business challenges using structured problem-solving methodologies.

    + Manage high-complexity projects, including planning, budgeting, and staffing, to meet business goals and timelines.

    + Translate department goals into actionable performance objectives for direct reports.

    + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by overseeing design control processes and reviewing technical documentation.

    + Lead Voice of Customer activities and champion customer-centric design practices.

    + Develop and manage cost center budgets and contribute to business unit-level financial planning.

    + Partner with internal and external stakeholders to assess emerging technologies and shape technical strategies.

     

    What You Will Need

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering/Material Science/Chemistry or applicable technical field.

    + Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in R&D or engineering roles.

    + Minimum 2 years of direct people management experience.

    + Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.

    + Experience managing budgets and financial planning at the project or department level.

    + Experience guiding a team through a full medical device product development cycle, including scaleup and launch related activities.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Minimum 4 years of direct people management experience.

    + Demonstrated success in coaching and developing team members through performance management strategies.

    + Strong understanding of the healthcare market and clinical needs.

    + Experience leading Voice of Customer initiatives and applying customer insights to product development.

    + Ability to communicate complex technical and strategic concepts to diverse audiences.

    **$168,500 - $286,500** salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
