Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Description

In this role, you’ll be responsible for enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations, with a focus on managing accounts payable and receivable. You’ll lead essential aspects of the monthly close cycle, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial variances. You’ll serve as a key point of contact for vendors and clients, ensuring smooth communication and reliable financial transactions. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining fixed asset records, supporting audit readiness, and contributing to both internal and external financial reporting. Beyond core accounting duties, you’ll help identify opportunities for process automation and workflow improvements. You’ll also take part in strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects, gaining exposure to senior leadership and broader business operations.

Responsibilities

+ Improve and manage the flow of accounts payable and receivable operations.

+ Deliver tasks with precision, speed, and consistent reliability.

+ Take charge of essential components of the monthly financial close.

+ Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and investigate financial discrepancies.

+ Build and maintain productive relationships with vendors and clients.

+ Oversee the tracking and updating of fixed asset records.

+ Support audit processes and contribute to the preparation of financial statements.

+ Identify and implement enhancements through automation and process refinement.

+ Collaborate on high-impact initiatives involving leadership and cross-functional teams.

Essential Skills

+ Skilled in core accounting functions including general ledger management, account reconciliation, month-end close, and financial reporting.

+ Holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.

+ Brings 1–3 years of hands-on experience in professional accounting roles.

+ Well-versed in GAAP principles and financial statement preparation.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with various accounting and ERP platforms.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Clearwater, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
