             Description Job Title: Planning Coordinator – CDC Emergency Operations Client: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – Division of Emergency Operations (DEO), Office of Readiness and Response (ORR) Overview: Our client is seeking a Planning Coordinator to support the CDC’s Division of Emergency Operations (DEO), which leads the agency’s Emergency Management Program. This role is critical to CDC’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies both domestically and globally. This position is ideal for professionals with prior CDC, DEO, or Emergency Operations Center (EOC) experience, or for Atlanta-based public health and emergency management specialists looking to make a meaningful impact. Key Responsibilities: As a Planning Coordinator, you will play a vital role in CDC’s emergency response efforts by: Leading and supporting the development and maintenance of core incident planning documents, including: Incident Action Plans (IAPs) Situation Reports (SitReps) Transition Activities Response Plans Ensuring planning documents align with CDC standards and are updated to reflect emerging public health threats. Collecting and organizing data to support structured reporting and informed decision-making. Collaborating with planning and operations teams to deliver timely, accurate, and actionable products during emergency activations. Operating in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment where precision and effective communication are essential. Qualifications: Prior experience with CDC, DEO, or EOC operations strongly preferred. Background in public health emergency preparedness or emergency management. Strong writing, coordination, and communication skills. Ability to work onsite at the CDC Roybal Campus in Atlanta. Familiarity with CDC Processes & Protocols: Understanding how CDC operates during emergencies, including internal workflows and standards. Public Health Knowledge: General understanding of public health threats, terminology, and CDC’s mission. Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Comfort working in dynamic, fast-paced settings with shifting priorities and evolving threats. Briefing & Presentation Skills: Confidence and clarity in presenting updates or findings to leadership and cross-functional teams. Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
