    Within **Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I)** , the **Core Datacenter Services (CDS) team** is responsible for delivering improving the overall availability and efficiency for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have multiple teams focused on both Microsoft and lessor datacenter performance, and all aspects of datacenter utilization effectiveness that includes power, water, and labor. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented **Solution Architect** to join our **A** **sset Inventory Management Systems (AIMS)** A team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining a hybrid solution drives datacenter operations of electrical and mechanical equipment across Microsoft datacenters. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Microsoft technologies, data modeling, and datacenter operations systems.

    Responsibilities

    + **System Architecture** : Architect integrated scalable systems that drive datacenter operations. Solutions should cover the lifecycle of electrical and mechanical equipment in a datacenter including plan, source, order, fulfill, transform, and return.

    + **Data Integration** : Exchange data across multiple services ensuring data accuracy, validity, reliability, and timeliness. Demonstrate expertise in data governance processing to ensure that the right data is at the right place at the right time.

    + **Strategic Thinking:** Demonstrate the ability to articulate value propositions for the most strategic Microsoft products and services and uses business, technology and industry strategies to define customer/partner requirements and constraints

    + **Risk Management:** Identify business and technical risks in programs, assesses their impact and proposes mitigations and contingencies

    + **Stakeholder Engagement:** Provide stakeholder assistance throughout deployment to avoid/resolve technical issues

    + **Preferred Skill** s: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Purview, Azure SQL Server, Kusto, and warehouse management tools like Blue Yonder.

    Qualifications

    Required/Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field **AND** 6+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work

    + OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field **AND** 4+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, or data engineering work

    + OR equivalent experience.

    + 3+ years designing data models for operations and supply chains in a distributed data environment.

    + 3+ years of writing SQL/KQL, programming languages (e.g., Python, Java), and data transformation tools including experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

    Other Requirements:

    _Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:_

     

    + **Microsoft Cloud Background Check** : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Management experience leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced technical environments.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Fabric for data analytics and integration.

    + Experience building data applications to support operational and business intelligence needs.

    + Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings for datacenter infrastructure and compliance.

    + Hands-on experience designing and implementing end-to-end solutions to manage AI applications at scale.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in tools like Power BI and Excel.

    + Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, ensuring alignment across technical and business teams.

     

    Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
