In the **Finance Manager of Engineering R&D,** you will partner closely with engineering leaders to align $20B+ in resources across ~100K FTE to the highest‑impact priorities; you will deliver rigorous modeling and analysis that informs revenue decisions, shapes capex and cloud/AI capacity, and elevates margin performance through efficient, scalable processes; you will create and socialize finance frameworks that clarify trade‑offs and guide resource allocation; you will turn ambiguity into clear, data‑driven recommendations that influence product strategy and execution; and you will thrive in an inclusive, growth‑minded team that values curiosity, systems thinking, collaboration, and career development.

Partnership
+ Partner with engineering and the broader finance organization to understand investments, expense results, and trends.
+ Communicate insights in a simple, concise manner to key stakeholders regarding the state of the business.
+ Establish trusted relationships and share responsibility for driving business outcomes such as profitable growth, market share, and AI leadership.
+ Drive learning from others and share best practices across team boundaries.
Prioritize
+ Generate actionable plans based on complex results and ambiguous findings.
+ Implement creative approaches to identify patterns and draw conclusions that inform decisions.
+ Develop and review multi-year financial spend plans.
+ Lead business planning and forecasting, including target setting, budget models, and risk/opportunity analysis, ensuring consistency in methodologies and improving forecast accuracy.
+ Conceptualize and design new approaches for collecting and evaluating financial data to influence future outcomes and decisions.
Protect
+ Ensure compliance in reporting financial information through approved instruments and processes, maintaining alignment with corporate policies.
+ Apply advanced technology understanding to achieve business goals and deliver deeper analysis.
+ Maintain integrity and accuracy in financial rhythms and reporting while innovating for efficiency.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
+ Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
+ 2+ years work experience with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis) and demonstrated ability to perform accurate financial calculations.
Additional or preferred qualifications
+ Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 3+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 5+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.
